Suddenly the Devils seem awkwardly deep at forward.
Matteau-Zajac-Kovy
Elias-Henrique-Clarkson
Carter-Gio-Bernier
Butler-Josefson-Barch
Zubrus Loktionov
Hard to see who the odd men out are, and it seems we could still have a better option on the top line playing with Zajac and Kovy |

A lot of C's, too. Zajac, Henrique, Gionta, Josefson and Loktionov all naturally play center. Elias, Carter and Zubrus can play there if needed, too. |

Funny it seems like yesterday that everyone was talking about how the Devils had no centers.. |

Wonder if we could see JJ play more wing as he's taken a few shifts there if Lokti impresses. |

Just hope zajac can find his offensive touch
And the team can improve faceoffs |

Any word on what line he'll be on - shvingter88
i'd love to see him center kovy and throw matteau on the wing. for poops and chuckles. maybe they'll click |
|
|
|
Well, against Philly you have to keep Barch in the line-up. So Butler is likely the odd man out, despite him showing good signs in the past few games.

From what LA fans told us, the kid can't win faceoffs. For that reason, i'd rather him on the wing.. but right now I like Matteau's size on that LW. Idk where Lokti fits but whatever. meh. Zubrus being on IR is a concern.. he's ZUBRUS. We could have 6 of him and still be a Cup contending team.
How did Matteau look last night? From what I saw, the whole team was out-worked. Now I know how Philly felt in the playoffs last year.. |

You're right about Barch. So actually for that reason alone I don't think Loktinov plays friday. Gotta keep Butler in the lineup... he's playing pretty damn well. Really looked good last night and almost had the late tying goal

I agree. I'm just saying that if Lokti HAS to play on Friday, it'll be Butler. I'm more in favor of letting the current offense gel a little. Plus, Lokti doesn't appear to bring any significant size to the lineup either.
Also, can anyone please break down Sherry Ross's insistence on calling it the CBGB line? Where the hell does the second B come into play? |

I love the kid. He can also keep up with Kovy. Adds some nice size and grit to the Kovy line. The 2 of them have some good chemistry |

I know it's only a few games in but so far I really like Butler and would love him to stick around as a regular. He's looked great on the power-play and I like to see DeBoer try him with Zajac and Kovy. |
